Wakatobi National Park

Wakatobi National Marine Park is a marine conservation area. Name ‘Wakatobi; is taken from the abbreviation of the name of the larger islands that make up this archipelago, among them Wangi-Wangi, Kaledupa, Tomia, and Binongko. Another name of the cluster of islands is also known as the Artisan Iron Islands (Kepulauan Tukang Besi).

Wakatobi National Marine Park’s biodiversity is unique because the island is located in the "Wallacea" which is an area of the appearance of Asia and Australia biota. On the islands, there are tropical rain forests which are found in almost the entire height and not found in tropical regions of Asia. Not only tropical rain forests, but mangroves, coastal forests, lowland swamp forest, river bank vegetation, and coral reefs can also be enjoyed by visiting the national park.
